Our Very Talented
Augusta Levendorf, born Augusta Duffy, grew up riding with her parents Gary and Donna Duffy of Little Brook Farms in Ithaca, NY. She started riding regularly at 4 years old and competed continuously in the junior divisions on the national circuit. During this time Augusta qualified for the Devon, Pennsylvania National, and Washington International Horse Shows with “El Nino”, “What About Bob?”, and “Versace” to name a few. Augusta has trained with Timmy Keyes, Louise Serio, Susie Schoellkopf, Karen Caristo, and others.
Augusta competed briefly as an amateur during her undergraduate studies with the family farm’s “By Design”. Upon graduation from Cornell University in 2008 she rode informally while she completed her Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry at Georgetown University (’13). There was no doubt in her mind that she would return to horses after completing her studies and was excited about the opportunity be with the horses again.
Augusta began the journey of merging her passions for horses and teaching after moving to the Pacific Northwest in early 2014. Recently, she competed in the Baby Green and Pre-Green Hunters at the Winter Equestrian Festival 2016 in Wellington, FL. She relocated from Portland, OR to the Los Angeles area in early 2016 and currently resides in Santa Monica with her husband Mark and two little dogs, Lily and Scarlet.
Augusta is excited to be working with Peter Lombardo and his great team at Frontier Farms. She enjoys developing quality young horses and ponies to become confident show hunters, but also finds joy in teaching so riders can reach their goals. Augusta plans to pursue her judges card for the hunter and equitation divisions.
